Philosophy

We believe that each child is a unique individual and has the ability to learn. Children are encouraged to learn and grow by providing them a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences in a safe and nurturing environment. Our program reflects the integration of emotional, social, physical, communication and  cognitive skills for the total development of the child.​

The Qualification Process 

  • Pre-Referral Process: Parents have noticed concerns in their child (s) growth. The primary doctor has concerns and has referral the family to Early Childhood Intervention (ECI), OT, PT, or speech services. Interventions are done for the child and little to no growth has been made with the child turning 3 years old soon.
  • Referral: The child's doctor, parent, or ECI has concerns after the initial implementation of interventions were completed. A transition meeting is held to discuss what has been implemented, documentation is shared, and paperwork is completed from the CBEE that requires parent approval to begin testing. 
  • Testing Process: A psychologist and special education preschool teacher will set up meeting times to test the child (ren). They use observations, parent interviews, and pre-k level test to gather all the information they can. If the child has PT, OT, or speech concerns, they are tested during this time as well. 
  • Evaluation Meeting: Once all the testing has been conducted, the whole team gets together to go over all the information that was collected. Each team member will share their results and it will be determined as a team if the child qualifies for one of the 13 disability categories as defined in Montana law under IDEA part B services. 
  • Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Meeting: If a child qualifies under IDEA part B services we will hold another meeting to develop a plan to ensure that a child who has a disability identified under the Montana law and is attending an educational institution receives specialized instruction and related services to meet their needs.​
